I am a Light Worker – bringing energetic healing to all in need.

People attending a Sunday Celebrations at the Center for Creative Living often question the lack of dogma in the sermon.  CCL is a charter church of the Universal Church of the Master.  UCM believes that each person must find and travel his or her own path to the Light, and that no single set of fixed rules is applicable to everyone on that journey.

That is the reason ministers from many faiths and many ideologies speak at Sunday service.  You will find Christians, Jews, Bahai’s, Yogis, Buddhists, Moslems, Science of Mind practitioners, Vatican trained Catholic priests, doctors, psychologists, pagans, druids, African-Americans, Native-Americans, Hospice workers etc. imparting their spiritual energies.

We are Universal and accept all Sacred Paths.  Our founders, in a time of bias, bigotry and racism were truly touched by “Spirit.”  Dr. B. J. Fitzgerald wrote a book, A New Text of Spiritual Philosophy and Religion honoring all people and all faiths.  It allowed UCM to “hide in plain sight.”  UCM embraces all faiths, and does so in a way that offends none.  We had ministers of both genders from the very beginning.  While other churches were and still are fighting about gender and race, it was never an issue.

The following by Rev. Tom Garry and is representative of UCM.

The Temple of One

The renovation has already begun, to create the temple of one.

Removing any thought of hate, as we center, unfold and meditate.

Temples and altars don’t look the same, each enclosed in its custom frame.

Let us release every thought of malice,

honoring each other as a sacred palace.

Live in the wonder of the now, embrace each thought that tells us how.

Drawing union from every soul,

birthing a universe entirely whole.

Listen to the prayer of the Divine Mother, calling together

every sister and brother.

Experience the oneness in the sacred breath,

transcending the pinnacles of life and death.

The awakening of centers freed of stress, filled with love of the divine caress

Brings a vibration of this time and space,

celebrating the growth of the human race.

The holy of holies in the Temple of One, glows with the light

of the eternal sun.

May all hearts experience the sensation, of our spiritual rebirth

and recreation

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised, proud man, fully dressed each morning by eight o’clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.

His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.  After hours of waiting patiently in the nursing home lobby, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.  As he walked to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

“I love it,” he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

“Mr. Jones, you haven’t seen the room; just wait.”

“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” he replied.  “Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.  Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged, it’s how I arrange my mind.  I already decided to love it.”

“Every morning when I wake up I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for ones that do.”

“Each day is a gift, as long as my eyes open, I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away just for this time in my life.”

Old age is like a bank account.  You withdraw what you’ve put in.  So, my advice would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank.

Remember the five simple rules to being happy:

          1. Free your heart from hatred.

          2. Free your mind from worries.

          3. Live simply.

          4. Give more.

          5. Expect less

I just had a call from a Charity asking me to donate some of my clothes to the starving people throughout the world.  I told them to take my number off their call list…….Anybody who fits into my clothes isn’t starving!!
