P S from Reverend Clark:

April 16, 2011

You know once you start fooling around with Mother Nature, it can get a bit sticky! With the failure of two dove nests on the patio I felt there was a problem with the nest, so, yesterday we took the basket down. As we removed the basket an egg fell out, which we caught (actually, it fell into Pajo’s shirt pocket, I give spirit points for that “assist”). Now this egg has been unattended for over two weeks and obviously is not going to hatch, but it is a special egg, now sitting on my altar in the office. I discovered the problem with the basket/nesting area is that it had been used so many times, and with the rains and cold weather every thing was so packed it was like cement and there really was no soft nesting to help keep the eggs warm. I didn’t replace the basket, figuring nesting season was over. Well, as usual, I was wrong. This morning two doves were up in the rafters where the basket used to be trying to figure out how to make a nest! I will put up another basket today and wait to see what develops. Stay tuned more updates to come.

Vol. 10 pg 14 (04-07-11) Prayer

AFFIRMATION

I know God Hears My Prayers

There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today, but with God’s help – I did! And because I did I’m going to celebrate!

Today, I’m going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high and a happy heart. And, not succumb to the craziness of Mercury being retrograde!

I will marvel at God’s seemingly simple gifts:  the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, and the birds. Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.

Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I’ll make someone smile. I’ll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don’t even know.

Today, I’ll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I’ll tell a child how special he is, and I’ll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for them and how much they mean to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don’t have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things Mother/Father God has already given me. I’ll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God’s Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.

And tonight, before I go to bed, I’ll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.

As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the creator for the best day of my life. I will pray for all of those people in the world needing help, solace and love. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!

Waking Up for Church
One Sunday morning, a mother went in to wake her son and tell him it was time to get ready for church, to which he replied, “I’m not going.”
“Why not?” she asked.
“I’ll give you two good reasons” he said. “One, they don’t like me, and two, I don’t like them.”
His mother replied, “I’ll give YOU two good reasons why you SHOULD go to church. One, you’re 54 years old, and two, you’re the pastor!”

THE PASTOR’S CAT
This particular story just made me laugh.

Dwight Nelson recently told a true story about the pastor of his church. A kitten had climbed up a tree and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc.

The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided if he tied a rope to his car and drove away so the tree bent down, he could reach up and get the kitten.

That’s what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car. He figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would bend sufficiently to reach the kitten. He moved the car a little further and, the rope broke. The tree went “boing!” and the kitten sailed through the air-out of sight.

The pastor felt terrible and walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they’d seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray cat. So he prayed, “God, I commit this kitten to your keeping,” and went on about his business.

A few days later, at the grocery store, he met one of his church members and glanced into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food. The woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her,“Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats?” She replied, “You won’t believe this,” and then told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. A few days before, the child had begged again, so she told her daughter, “Well, if God gives you a cat, I’ll let you keep it.”

She told the pastor, “I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won’t believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed right in front of her.”
Never underestimate the Power of God’s unique sense of humor.

The Best Way To Pray:
A priest, a minister, and a guru sat discussing the best positions for prayer while a telephone repairman worked nearby. “Kneeling is definitely the best way to pray,” the priest said.
“No,” said the minister. “I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven.”
“You’re both wrong,” the guru said. “The most effective prayer position is lying down on the floor.”
The repairman could contain himself no longer. “Hey, fellas,” he interrupted. “The best prayin’ I ever did was when I was hangin’ upside down from a telephone pole.”

P S from Reverend Clark:

April 11, 2011

Not the best news regarding our Dove families; when I came into the office on Monday the nest was empty and no sign of any Doves around. There has been a pair sitting on the fence late in the afternoon, but they leave after a short time. Not sure just what is wrong, since two pair have not had success in the nest area, when the weather clears, (it rained this morning) I think I will clear out the nesting area in case there is something there causing problems.

Next Monday is April 11th and once again time for our monthly meditation here at the UCM office in Campbell. Everyone is welcome. We begin at 7:30PM. If you cannot join us in person, please join us in spirit.

April 2011 Astrology blog

April 6, 2011

So what is happening astrologically in April 2011?

All time indicated are for Pacific Daylight Savings.

Here are the Astrological basics:

Sun

The Sun goes into Taurus on Wednesday, April 20th at 3:18 am

MOON

  • New Moon – 13 degrees of Aries on Sunday, April 3th at 7:32 am
  • Full Moon (Awakening Moon in old Wiccan, Pink Moon in N/E Native American) – Sunday, April 17th at 27 degrees Libra at 7:44 pm.
  • Note:  The New and Full Moon are usually the polar opposite signs. This month it is Aries and Libra.  These two signs live respectively in the 1st house and 7th house in the Natural chart.  Some of the areas brought up will be;
  1. Independence vs. relationship issues
  2. Meeting new people in your personal and in business life
  3. 3. The need for action/aggression while maintaining strategy and diplomacy
  4. Us vs. Them plays both personally and socially in our live.

Mercury Retrograde starts April at 24 degrees of Aries.

  • Goes Direct on Saturday, April 23rd at 3:04 am. Shadow period in play for two weeks
  • Ends the month at 15 degrees of Aries
  • Mercury in Aries; think before you speak.  Remember what you say can not be put back in the bottle.
  • If you have Mercury in Aries or the first house this will affect you more than others.  Red Agate is a good stone to wear to help offset the Aries energy. Ruby if you have it also works well.

Venus starts April at 07 degrees of Pisces

  • Goes into Aries Wednesday,  April 20th at 9:06 pm
  • Ends the month at 12 degrees of  Aries
  1. This month the “bird and bee need” will be soooo strong!  Strong sexual energy.
  2. Strong attractions and jealousy

Mars starts April at 00 degrees of Aries

  • Ends the month at 22 degrees of Aries.
  1. Slow down! Don’t rush!
  2. Tempers are tested!
  3. More physical energy
  4. More physical fights

Jupiter starts April at 15 degrees of Aries

  • Ends the month at 22 degrees of Aries
  1. New ways to make money
  2. New laws

Saturn Retrograde starts April at 14 Libra

  • Ends the month at 12 degrees of Libra Retrograde
  • Saturn is exalted in Libra.  Libra is not his sign, but to him this sign is like visiting a four star hotel.

Uranus starts April at 01 degrees of Aries

  • Ends the month at 03 degrees of Aries
  1. Unpredictable change
  2. Go with the flow; be prepared to make alternate plans.

Neptune starts April at 30 Aquarius.

  • Neptune is ending its 14 years journey through Aquarius.
  • Goes into Pisces on April 4th at 6:36 am
  • Neptune is the co-ruler of Pisces

Pluto starts April at 07 Capricorn.

  • Goes Stationary Retrograde on Saturday, April 9th at 1:49 am
  • Ends the month Retrograde at 07 Capricorn.
  1. As Pluto continues to go through the first 10 degrees of Capricorn more governments will fall world wide and others will have to change the way they operated.  This is a time of immense change!

Moons Mean Node start March at 28 Sagittarius

Topics for April:

1.  Last month I wrote: Uranus conjoins the IC (the fourth house cusp) of the USA Sibyl chart on the March 20th, the day of the Vernal equinox; 00 degrees of Aries. There will be a major event very close to this date.

I think jumping into another military action would qualify as a Major Event.

And once again we did a military action on one of the eight high holy days of the Pagan people; the Spring Equinox…..not to mention is was New Years Day for many people in the Middle East.  I am not looking forward to the blowback from this.

As a former strategic intelligence analyst for our military I am concerned about our nation being in three military actions, three fronts at the same time.  In classic warfare strategy, getting a nation to do this is a sure bet in leading to its demise.

2.… A little bit of Aries in the night! (play of words on a soliloquy from Shakespeare’s Henry the 5th.)

Did you notice how many of the planets are in the sign of Aries this month??? Aries also know as Mr. War or Action Jackson!

Yes, Aries is also about new beginnings, desire and creativity but with Pluto going Stationary Retrograde while squaring Uranus and Mars and Jupiter conjoining at 22 degrees of Aries at the end of the month, and April 20th being April 20th, this is going to be an interesting and potentially dangerous month.

There is a zone from April 17th to 24th that historically has been problematic.  Some of the incidents that occurred during this time frame are; the bombing of the Federal building, the Gulf of Mexico Oil disaster, and Hitler’s birthday.  This April 20th is extra charged.  Please pray!

Some questions for you;

  • Where does Aries live in your chart; what house?

Do you have any natal planets or personal points (PP)?

(The main PP’s are the ascendant/rising sign, mid- heaven/MC.) in Aries?

  • Do you have any planets or personal points (PP) in the Cardinal Signs? Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn?
  • If so, are these Planets and PP’s in aspect (conjunct, sextile, square, trine or opposite) to other planets?
  • Watch the path of Mars through Aries.  If Mars comes up on one of your planets be ready for raw energy to come in.  If you know Mars is aspecting one of your planets or (PP) prior to it happening you can make the Energy work for you. Aries is raw, primal, active, yang, life force. Kind of like a wild horse. If you can tame it you can ride it.
  • Google Free Astrology Chart and get a chart done!  Knowing what the Aries planets are doing will help stop potential fights, disagreements, bashing your head, irritation, impatience, getting burns and cutting yourself…..such a soft Sign! Lol!
  • On the good side it will help you to start a new endeavor, when to ask that special person out for a date, when to ask for that pay raise at work, start an exercise program, or leave a relationship/job.

NEPTUNE GOES INTO PISCES -April 4, 2011 to January 27 2026

Neptune is a planet of lights and mirrors, very elusive, very mystical.  It runs the gamut from visionary prophet to skid row bum.

Pisces is the chameleon, visionary, dreamer, victim, savior, and the healer.

Here are some key words for Neptune in Pisces:

Dreams, visions, healer, ghosts, spirits, artist, psychic, mental health, occult, spirituality, drugs, alcohol, medicines, escapism, musician, non real reality, rebirth of spiritualistic churches, illusionist, the great deceiver, film maker, photography, drug smuggler, oil and gas, magician, unfretted musical instruments, addict, psychologists, Energy work, witches, oceanography, holy water, disease, dissolver, earthquakes at sea, sea horse, spiritual explorer, false and real prophets, entity possession will increase ( if you have a strong  Pisces  signature in your chart or have a stellium-more than 4 planets in the 12th house,  you must have good energetic hygiene!)

Let us see what happen the last time Neptune went into Pisces.

April 1847.

The following occurred the last time Neptune was in Pisces: From Kelli Fox

  • The United States issued its first postage stamps
  • The Irish Potato Famine occurred
  • The California Gold Rush took place
  • Elizabeth Blackwell became the first female doctor in the U.S.
  • James Knox Polk becomes the first President of the U.S. to have his photograph taken
  • American Express was founded
  • Europeans made up 22% of the world population
  • The first protected submarine telegraph cable laid across the English Channel
  • The novel Moby-Dick was published
  • The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London admitted its first patient
  • The first Boat Race between Yale and Harvard occurred
  • The first public aquarium opened at the London Zoo
  • The American and German piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons was founded
  • Alexander Wood invented the hypodermic syringe
  • Major streets were lit by coal gas for the first time
  • The world’s first oil well was drilled in Poland
  • Professor Benjamin Silliman of Yale University was the first person to distill petroleum into useable oil
  • An epidemic of cholera in London killed about 10,000 people, and it was traced back to one single well water pump
  • The Opium Wars occurred
  • The French fashion label Louis Vuitton was founded
  • The birth of the chemical industry started
  • New York banks closed for two months following a major financial panic
  • Divorce became legal in Britain
  • Hollywood was founded
  • Charles Blondin crosses Niagara Falls on a tightrope for the first time

In 1847 the USA was at war with Mexico so I think our relationship with our neighbor to the south will be challenged and come to a head during the next decade.  The Drug war with the cartels will be fought on our soil.

Since Neptune in Pisces can be all about escapism, we will see more people going to movies, gaming, meditating, and taking drugs.

The ancient ways of Dream work will re-immerge. Shaman work will be stronger than ever. The veil between the worlds will thin.

Yerba Buena became San Francisco!

Synopsis for this month: Stay alert, be calm, take this Mars/Aries energy and start a new project, create something new.  It will be easier to exercise but pay attention. Think before you speak…..I sound like a mother!

If you are at a protest and you feel a shift in the energy, leave.

Our police and fire departments will be extra busy this month.

Take this wild Spring energy and make it yours!

Peace to all!

Remember:  Think Globally, Act Locally!  Get involved in your local city politics.  The change starts with you.

To let you know that I walk the talk, I became my neighborhood watch captain.

WHAT IS A BUDDHA?

Do you know what Buddhist do? What they believe, how they worship or how they express themselves in and to the world? Come and find out.

The word Buddha means “awakened one” or “enlightened one”. The Buddha was an “ordinary” human like you and me before he became enlightened. Enlightenment is compared to waking up, because we suddenly experience a complete transformation of body and mind when we wake up. A Buddha is a person who has developed all positive qualities and eliminated all negative qualities. One could say that a Buddha represents the very peak of evolution, as he/she is omniscient or all-knowing. With his wisdom, a Buddha really understands the truth, whereas ordinary people live like in a dream, an illusion that prevents us from understanding reality properly.

Please join us to hear Mas Horiuchi of the San Jose Buddhist church, as he shares “What it is to Be a Buddhist.”2:00 to 5:00, $25. This is part of an ongoing UCM Ordination Class. All are invited to listen to this interesting Buddhist gentleman.

U.C.M. Newsletter of Joy, Humor, Laughter, and Inspiration

AFFIRMATION

I am joyful – for God Loves Laughter

I know it has been a difficult month for everyone with earthquakes, tsunamis, conflicts, deaths, illnesses, weather difficulties around the world and most of all a reduction in spiritual joy. So, last Sunday we giggled and laughed during Sunday Celebration. It was all about God loving Laughter and Joy; so we even danced to rock and roll while waving rattles and beating tambourines!

And then, in the last two days I received two very funny stories and some delightful Church Lady Bloopers; which I am sharing with you.  So, just take a nice deep breath, calm down and enjoy some humor sent in by lovely UCM ministers.

A revelation with an Incredibly Big Message (IBM):

Well, you might have thought that you knew how the Internet started, but here’s the TRUE story….
In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a young wife by the name of Dot.
And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg.  Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.
And she said unto Abraham, her husband:  “Why dost thou travel so far from town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy tent?”
And Abraham did look at her – as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said: “How, dear?”
And Dot replied:  “I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price.  And the sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah’s Pony Stable (UPS).”
Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success.  Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to move from his tent.
To prevent neighboring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying; Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew.  It was called Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures – Hebrew To The People (HTTP)
But this success did arouse envy.  A man named Maccabia did secrete himself inside Abraham’s drum and began to siphon off some of Abraham’s business.  But he was soon discovered, arrested and prosecuted – for insider trading.
And the young men did take to Dot Com’s trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung.  They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS.
And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off every drum maker in the land.  And indeed did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates’ drumheads and drumsticks.
And Dot did say:  “Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others.”
And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or eBay as it came to be known.  He said:  “We need a name that reflects what we are.”  And Dot replied:  “Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators.”
“YAHOO,” said Abraham.
And because it was Dot’s idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.
Abraham’s cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot’s drums to locate things around the countryside.  It soon became known as God’s Own Official Guide to Locating Everything (GOOGLE). And that is how it all began.

Now you know.

Thank you to so many for suggesting this for the JFN.

A mother was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school.  He didn’t want his mother to walk with him.  She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.  So she had an idea of how to handle it.

She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn’t notice her.  The neighbor said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed

The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew.  She did this for the whole week.

As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy’s little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day.  Finally she said to Timmy, ‘Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?  Do you know her?’

Timmy nonchalantly replied, ‘Yeah, I know who she is.’

The little girl said, ‘Well, who is she?’

That’s just Shirley Goodnest,’ Timmy replied, ‘and her daughter Marcy.’

Shirley Goodnest?’  Who the heck is she and why is she following us?

‘Well,’ Timmy explained, ‘every night my Mum makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, ‘cuz she worries about me so much.  And in the Psalm, it says, ‘Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life’, so I guess I’ll just have to get used to it!’

Thank you to Rev. Mary Garry

P S from Reverend Clark:

April 2, 2011

Well, have we had an interesting few days on the patio! You may recall that earlier this year we had a pair of Doves nesting outside my office window, nothing developed from that nesting and they left the patio area. Then recently a different pair of Doves set up their nest in the same area, she has survived our storms and still sits on her nest. Not positive but I think there might be a little one under her protection. On Monday the original nesting pair returned and wanted their nest back. Well, you can imagine the fluttering activity going on. It is quite a sight to see four Doves flying around in our little patio all at once…and none of them very happy. I finally went outside to create a diversion, a little break in the tensions. It worked in that the second pair left the patio area, and all was well again. This morning the Mother Dove is sitting on her nest and all appears to be calm. As I began watering the plants I happened to look up in another area of the patio to see another Dove glaring down at me who apparently is trying to establish a nest. Not sure if she is one of the Doves who was here earlier or a brand new couple. We put up a basket in a protected, more secure, area. We shall see if it gets uses it or not. Stay tuned more details next week!
