Vol. 10 pg 21 (05-26-11) THE RAPTURE

AFFIRMATION

I am excited about living my life.

THE RAPTURE

(Used by permission)

Greetings from Richard Jelusich, Ph.D., UCM Trustee

I notice the media covering Minister Harold Camping’s failed prediction of the Rapture and the Apocalypse created quite a stir among his congregation and the public.

It seems to me you have to be very careful when you attempt to speak for God. What a tremendous responsibility to take on. I even have trouble sometimes speaking for myself!

Nonetheless, setting a specific date for such cataclysmic events invites all kinds of reactions:  those from fear, anticipation, rejection, and so on. And what happens when the date passes with no rapture for the ‘chosen ones’ or the calamity for those left behind.

Consider that had Minister Camping been right, how many throngs of people ‘left behind’ would beat a path to his door. And that he was wrong, how many people either still believed in him or mocked him. Right or wrong, he drew tremendous attention to himself.

Whether he was right or not, any true spiritual teacher would first and foremost ask you to look into your heart of hearts and find your strength within. A spiritual teacher would have you:

  • Look beyond yourself by looking within
  • Look beyond (exceed) the teacher’s teachings with inner awareness, not just intellectuality
  • Help you to empower your direct connection to God

Perhaps the word “God” has been so misused and tread upon as the responsible being for our sorrows, that we lost the meaning. I can only speak of my own, limited understanding.

All That Is, whether you are a shaman, imam, priest, druid, is the unity consciousness of all things. Ancient peoples appear to have had a much better grasp in their consciousness than we in the current era, but we are also waking up.

We are waking up to know that these ancient peoples spoke of something greater than themselves, meaning their egoic attachment to the self that is doing the acting. They spoke of increasing your already existing connection to all nature (consciousness), and that you are the collaborator of your manifestations in this life.

To take ownership is to take personal responsibility for yourself and your actions. It is not to give your power away to predictions like raptures, apocalypses and 2012 phenomena, but to prepare within yourself the direct knowing (God within you).

In my way of understanding the Universe, there are an infinite number of raptures and 2012’s that will come and go. The difference in all of this is you, and how you choose to react to the situation at hand. So many of us have given our power away to others, to institutions, to governments, to corporations – and this really is the time of the great awakening, the ‘great purification’ as the Hopi‘s call it.

Look at all the attention being given to 2012 – do you think the opportunity to grow in one’s consciousness is limited only to those who are ‘saved’? Or is this era of our living a tremendous opportunity for inner growth, to make the inner transformation, and it is a continual process, not an event.

2012 will come and go. The Rapture will come and go as an infinite series of ongoing opportunities for inner growth and awareness of the presence of God, Oneness, Divine Creator, The All, Nature, and Cosmic Consciousness:  call it what you will.

Empower yourself by taking the risk to go within: defeat fear and doubt with a ferocious amount of faith that you are the Oneness; it is you. Maintain practices that strengthen your inner awareness and confidence to see things as they are. Practice compassion and harmlessness, and balance that with great moral and ethical inner strength to do the right thing when called upon.

Then every moment will be the rapture; every moment will constitute you a self-empowered, ever-self realizing being of light.

In Love and In Service,

Rev. Richard Jelusich, Ph.D.

Rapture Jokes

I was looking forward to the rapture.  Ah well, it’s not the end of the world.

The New York Police Department stated:  “We don’t plan any additional coverage for the end of the world. Indeed, if it happens, fewer officers will be required for streets that presumably will be empty.” The NYPD has a sense of humor. Who would have guessed?

Center for Creative Living

May 27, 2011

All are welcome to Sunday Celebrations at the Center for Creative Living, UCM Charter #801, at 1460 Koll Circle, Suite “C” – services in back.  Need directions?  Call             (408)392-9090       or visit www.doti.info. Celebration is from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Dress is casual and Kids are welcome. Spiritual energies, food, hugs and music are lovingly available!

Thank you Rev. Donna Zehner, Rev. Bec Thompson, and Rev. Arlene Phelan for the wonderful service last Sunday and Rev. Corky and Kat Silas – the Song books are great!

This coming Sunday, Rev. Doti Boon will be doing a guided meditation and short messages from her Spirit Guide Mahalaleel (MAH).

An Inspirational talk will be presented by Catherine Ann Clemett, co-author of Anna, the Voice of the Magdalenes with Claire Heartsong (the sequel to Claire’s channeled book Anna, Grandmother of Jesus) will share the three most important secrets revealed in Anna, the Voice of the Magdalenes that relate to our awakening today. Anna, the Voice of the Magdalenes unfolded from a series of regressions with Claire facilitated by Catherine Ann, a certified hypnotherapist, in which 19 characters brought forth wisdom disclosing long-held secrets regarding Jesus’ relationships and children; Anna and the holy family’s experiences in France and Britain after the crucifixion and resurrection; and other controversial information.

Then in the afternoon, 1:00 to 3:00, Catherine Ann will present an amazing workshop, only $20. “Uncover Your Magdalene Connection and Your Unique Brilliance.” In this workshop you will be reacquainted with the Magdalene Order; clarifying what it is, why it’s important, and how it relates to you. Many of you are aware of the huge shift of consciousness that’s now happening but may not be aware of the part you have to play. Now is the time to not only remember who you are, but to start taking the steps to reclaim your “voice,” rediscovering your unique brilliance as your Magdalene message to the world.

Catherine Ann Clemett has consciously been on a spiritual path since she was a teenager. Her early life was spent training, dancing, performing and choreographing until an auto accident ended her dance career right after she received an MFA in dance. Eventually she went on to train in various healing modalities: DNA Healing, Matrix Energetics, Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Past-Life Regression, and Integrative Coaching with Debbie Ford. Catherine Ann went to work for Claire Heartsong as her business manager in 2006 which quickly evolved into doing the regressions which brought forth the foundation and co-authoring Anna, the Voice of the MagdalenesCatherine Ann has co-authored Finding the One True Love: How Breaking the Rules Will Change Your Life with Angelina Heart, as well as the soon to be released Understanding Twin Flames: the Union and Ascension of Portia and St. Germain, again with Claire Heartsong. In addition Catherine Ann plans to release her own book, Soulweaving: Unlocking the Power of Your Twin Flame and the Treasure of Your Soul in the next couple of months as well as yet another co-authored work, How to Become Famous As An Author with Sue Wilhite.

Child care is offered by Joe Thompson.

Vol. 10 pg 20 (05-19-11) FORGIVENESS

AFFIRMATION

I am a forgiving and loving individual.

Have you ever done anything where you got angry, went into a rage and then afterwards felt awful and stupid? Well, I experienced all of these sensations on Monday of this week and after I got through ranting and raving. I simply stood with my mouth open and said, “Oh my God, I need help.”

After hours of deliberation, lots of prayer, and some good old fashioned talking to myself, I realized I still had lots of resentment and it was taking me into acute depression. Now what! I sent emails of apology, called various folks and generally humbled myself – and yet I still didn’t feel forgiving, but most of all I didn’t feel forgiven.

So, I decided to write about forgiveness – and as God always answers my prayers, tonight Min. Julie Hawkins will be presenting a class in Ho’oponopono! – Which means “to make right with the people with whom you have relationships.” Don’t you love it when God answers so quickly?

I have found one of the most difficult things we humans are ever called upon to do is to forgive and ask to be forgiven.  Study after study shows that one of the keys to longevity and good health is to develop a habit of gratitude and let go of past hurts.
Want to live a long, happy life?  Learn to forgive.  It really is the kindest thing you can do for yourself.

Here are some interesting and worthwhile instructions on how to work with forgiveness.

          1.  Identify who in your life needs forgiveness.  It may be someone who has asked you repeatedly for forgiveness, or it may be someone who has never apologized to you, or sometimes it may be a person who doesn’t even realize they have hurt you!

2. Understand that everyone has made mistakes.  Humans do really nasty things sometimes, and often we wish with all of our hearts we could turn back time and erase those things.  We haven’t figured a way to turn back time yet but we can forgive people who have hurt us, and that will lighten the load on you, and the person who has hurt you.

3. Think back to all of the times you may have hurt someone (intentionally or not), or may have done things that were wrong.  Think how it would feel to you if no one had ever forgiven you for any of those things.  Now remember how good it feels to have someone forgive you.  Keep these feelings in mind at all times.

4. Realize that in order for you to expect people to forgive you, you HAVE to forgive others.  Forgiveness is a two way street.  If you have someone in your life who you have not forgiven (for whatever reason), how can you truly expect forgiveness for your missteps and transgressions?

5.  Take your time.  It may be hard at first.  Don’t wait too long however, or you may never get to forgive them and then you will have to live with that forever.

6. Once you forgive the person, do not bring the situation up ever again.  What I mean is, don’t keep holding it over their head.  You no longer have the right to make them feel bad about what they have done to you.  When you forgive someone forgive them completely.  Do not offer your forgiveness if you do not truly forgive them.

7. Don’t forget to forgive yourself. Remember – you are a Child of God – somewhere along the line – you just forgot!

8. Visit the Center this evening and learn the ancient tools of the Hawaiian Code of Forgiveness –Ho’oponopono!

I’m not sure if this joke is about forgiveness, but here goes.
A woman bought a parrot for a pet. All the parrot did was treat her bad. It insulted her and every time she tried to pick it up, it would peck at her arm.
One day she got fed up with the parrot and as it was insulting her she picked it up, it continued with the insults, “You’re ugly! I can’t stand you!” and it pecked at her arm as she carried it. She opened the freezer door and threw him in and closed the door. From inside, the parrot was still going on for about 5 seconds and then it was suddenly quiet.
She thought, “Oh no, I killed it!” She opened the door and the parrot just looked at her. She picked it up. Then the parrot said:
“I’m very sorry. I apologize for my bad behavior and promise you there will be no more of that. From now on, I will be a respectful, obedient parrot.”

“Well OK” she said, “apology accepted”.

The parrot said “Thank you”. Then he said, “Can I ask you something?”

She said, “Yes, What?”
And the parrot looked at the freezer and asked, “What did the Chicken do?”

When I was young I used to pray for a bike, then I realized that God doesn’t work that way, so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.

Late for a seminar and unable to find parking, I pulled into a spot behind a church. It was only after I’d gotten out of the car that I spotted this sign: “No parking. Forgiveness is our business, but don’t make it harder than it already is.”

Ho’oponopono! Hawaiian Code of Forgiveness

With Min. Julie Hawkins

Ho’oponopono means to make right. Essentially, it means to make it right with the ancestors, or to make right with the people with whom you have relationships. We believe that the original purpose of Ho’oponopono was to correct the wrongs that had occurred in someone’s life including Hala (to miss the thing aimed for, or to err, to disobey) and Hewa (to go overboard or to do something to excess) which were illusions, and even ‘Ino (to do harm, implying to do harm to someone with hate in mind), even if accidental.

We call this the Hawaiian Code of Forgiveness, and it’s an important thought, because when we forgive others, who are we forgiving? Our-selves, of course. This description is by no means a complete training in how to do Ho’oponopono. While appropriate to do for yourself, for yours and others safety, it should not be done with someone else without training.

Join Julie as she talks about the healing opportunities available to you through Ho’oponopono.

UCM May 2011 Astrology Update

May 20, 2011

So what is happening astrologically in May 2011?

All time indicated are for Pacific Daylight Savings.

Here are the Astrological basics:

Sun

The Sun goes into Gemini on Wednesday, May 21th at 2:21 am

MOON

  • New Moon – 12 degrees of Taurus on Monday, May 2nd  at 11:51 pm
  • Full Moon (Grass Moon in Neo Pagan – Wiccan, Flower Moon in N/E Native American) – Tuesday, May 17th at 26 degrees Scorpio at 4:09 am.
  • Note:  The New and Full Moon are usually the polar opposite signs. This month it is Taurus and Scorpio.  These two signs live respectively in the 2st house and 8th house in the Natural chart.  Some of the areas brought up this month will be:
  1. Money. All aspects from how you make it to your debts.
  2. Self-worth, self-esteem.
  3. 3.     Death and transformation
  4. The practical vs. the unknown.

Mercury starts May at 16 degrees of Aries

  • The Shadow period of Mercury Retrograde is in effect until May 7th.
  • Mercury goes into Taurus Sunday May 15th at 4:18 pm.
  • Mercury in Taurus. Communications are slower, more practical, and people are reluctant to change ideas. If you are working on a project that needs others approval and you do not want the project to slow down, get it done prior to the 15th.
  • If you have Mercury in Taurus or the second house this will affect you more than others.  Jade or Emerald are good stones to wear to help offset the negative side of Taurus energy.
  • Mercury ends the month at 26 degrees of Taurus.

Venus starts May at 13 degrees of Aries

  • Goes into Taurus Sunday, May 15th at 3:12 pm
  • Taurus is ruled by Venus.  She likes it! Relationships start to mellow out after last month’s Aries fire.
  • Venus leaves May at 20 degrees of  Taurus
  • If you have Venus in Taurus or the second house you can make or spend money on things that make you feel good; like sensual soft clothing or gourmet foods.
  • Note that both Mercury and Venus go into Taurus on the same day.  A good indicator for the arts. Make those crafts, write that cookbook!

Mars starts May at 23 degrees of Aries

  • Goes into Taurus on Wednesday May 11that 00:04 am.
    • Ends the month at 15 degrees of Taurus.
    • If you have Mars in Taurus or the second house you will be able to concentrate on a goal, push through obstacles to achieve what you need to do.  Watch out for jealousy. Mars in Taurus is like Ferdinand the Bull, slow to anger but volatile when pushed over the edge.

Jupiter starts May at 23 degrees of Aries

  • Ends the month at 29 degrees of Aries
  1. New ways to make money
  2. New laws

Saturn Retrograde starts May at 12 Libra

  • Ends the month at 11 degrees of Libra Retrograde
  • Saturn is exalted in Libra.  Libra is not his sign, but to him this sign is like visiting a four star hotel.

Uranus starts May at 03 degrees of Aries

  • Ends the month at 04 degrees of Aries
  1. Unpredictable change
  2. Go with the flow; be prepared to make alternate plans.

Neptune starts May at 01 Pisces.

  • Ends the month at 01 Pisces
  • Neptuneis the co-ruler of Pisces

Pluto starts May at 07 Capricorn Retrograde.

  • Ends the month Retrograde at 07 Capricorn.
  1. As Pluto continues to go through the first 10 degrees of Capricorn (this is in effect until Jan 20 2013), more governments will fall worldwide and others will have to change the way they operate.  This is a time of immense change!

Moons Mean Node start May at 26 Sagittarius

Topics for May:

RANT:

May 1st…..Osama bye-bye or another mass deception?  Once again the USA engaged in a major military action on one of the eight high holy days of the Pagans….hmmmm. Who are these masked men and women behind the curtain of deception and death?  Bet they have weird handshakes.

There are two times during the crossovers where Magick can be used for incredible manifestations of good or evil.  The Energy exists; we have the choice and the free will to create our existence.

The first group is:

The evening prior, and day of May, August, November and February 1st.

The second group is:

The 15th degree of the Fixed Signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.  The day this degree happens is approximately the 5th day of the above months… It varies slightly.

Note: I used Magick with the “k” to distinguish it from stage Magic, not the dark stuff.

Let us take a little journey back to the Pagan holidays prior to May first.

Pagan new year, Dec 21, 2011, the holy day called Yule.  What links can we find on the neutralization project that happened in Abbottabad, Pakistan on the first of May?

NATO Denies U.S. Military Is Pushing for Pakistan Raids

Kabul, Afghanistan (AP) – The U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan on Tuesday denied reports that American forces are pushing to expand special operations raids into tribal areas of neighboring Pakistan where Islamist militants are known to find refuge.

Quote from above link: Ground operations in Pakistan remain controversial in Washington, and there may be a debate over the proposal. One senior administration official said he was not in favor of cross-border operations — which he said have been generally “counterproductive” — unless they were directed against top leaders of Al Qaeda. He expressed concern that political fallout in Pakistan could negate any tactical gains.

Coalition strikes have succeeded in crippling the air defenses of Moamar Gaddafi’s Libyan regime and a no-fly zone is effectively in place over the country, the US military says.

I digress kind of….attacking Libya is a major military action but I am following a thread on Pakistan.

http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2011/03/21/jailed-cia-contractor-freed-in-pakistan

Raymond Davis, a former Special Forces soldier working clandestinely for the CIA, was freed from Pakistani custody last week, after a prolonged diplomatic row between Washington and Islamabad.

Gee, I wonder if he belonged to Seal Team Six? No? ODA? Who were the men killed by Davis? Osama’s buddies?

The mixture of the Raymond Davis incident and the attack Seal Team Six combination, along with the nuclear backpacks will have blowback by the Solstice, June 21st.

Nuclear backpacks?  Yes, a cute little device developed by the Soviets….many of these devices were not accounted for after the USSR collapsed.

End of rant.  Now for something completely different.

Mercury and Venus in Taurus:

On May 15th both Mercury and Venus move into Taurus. Great for creative writing poetry, love letters and how to make books on subjects like crafts, making jewelry, soaps or other sensual products.

This combination will be in the fifth house of the Sibley USA chart. The stock market will continue its illusionary rise….there may be some creative financing going on in our government….imagine that!  It will be a good month for finances on paper.  There will be a stock market rally.

Wouldn’t it be nice if our government had to post every dime it spent on a website?

Peace to all!

AFFIRMATION

Mother’s are Wonderful women.

Gambian woman and child.

Image via Wikipedia

I have always been a “mother.” Being the oldest of 10 children, the mother of two, grandmother of seven, and foster mother of many. For me mothering is natural and automatic.

I am friends with quite a few women who do not have kids. Some of these women are in a profession, like medicine, where they felt they couldn’t give children the time they needed. Others were unable to conceive, and some never had a partner and felt it wasn’t fair to raise a child all alone.

When Mother’s Day comes along I look at these folks and wonder what they are feeling: Some are angry that they were deprived of children and others regret not allowing that “bundle of joy” into their lives. My heart goes out to those who were not able to raise a child, for what ever reason.

And then there is the group that is content and feels they made the right decision not to include children in their lives, with their pedicures, manicures, a closet full of great clothes and trim figures. And here I am, my stomach protrudes, nails are cracked, shoes run over, gray and balding.

I am envious – sometimes. And then, I read things like the following stories, and remember the joys of motherhood, which just becomes greater when my sons call to say “Hi Mom, Happy Mother’s Day.” And my youngest 3 year old grandchild whispers into the phone, “I love you mema.”

MOTHERS

Dorothea Lange's

Real Mothers don’t eat quiche; they don’t have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the      sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn’t come out of          carpets.
Real Mothers don’t want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask ‘Why me?’ and get their answer when

A little voice says, ‘Because I love you best.’

Real Mothers know that a child’s growth is not measured by height or

Years or grade…It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother…

The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE –   My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE –   My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE – My Mother doesn’t really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE – Naturally, Mother doesn’t know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE – Mother? She’s hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE – That old woman? She’s way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE – Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE – Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE – Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE – Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

A MOTHERS LOVE

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:
For cutting the grass:  $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week:  $1.00
For going to the store for you:  $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping:  $.25
Taking out the garbage:  $1.00
For getting a good report card:  $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard:  $2.00
Total owed:  $14.75
Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he’d written on, and this is what she wrote:
For the nine months I carried you while you grew inside me:
No Charge!
For nights I’ve sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge!
For the trying times, and tears you’ve caused through the years:
No Charge!
For nights filled with dread, and the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge!
For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge!
Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge!
When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, “Mom, I sure do love you.” And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: “PAID IN FULL.”

Funny Mother’s Day Quotes

·                     “All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That’s his.” – Oscar Wilde

·                     “A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” – Tenneva Jordan

·                     “There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it.” – Chinese Proverb

·                     “You don’t really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around – and why his parents will always wave back.” – William D. Tammeus.

·                     “My mother had to send me to the movies with my birth certificate, so that I wouldn’t have to pay the extra fifty cents that the adults had to pay.”  KareemAbdul-Jabbar

·                     “My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.” – Mark Twain

·                     A teacher gave her class of second graders a lesson on the magnets and what they do. In a written test, she included this question: “My full name has six letters. The first one is M. I pick up things. What am I?” When the test papers were turned in, the teacher was astonished to find that almost 50 percent of the students answered the question with the word Mother!

Center for Infinite Growth

UCM Charter # 11

UCM Charter holder Reverend Tom Garry and his wife Reverend Mary Garry were inspired to write the following prayer after their Morning Prayer and Meditation of last Monday and have requested that we share it with all of you.

Infinite Creator, we give you thanks for providing the opportunity to close a painful chapter in our history, while restoring to us a remembrance of the ability and power of our country.

We give you thanks for the inspiration provided to our leadership, so that decisions and activities which were so critical to resolution could be carried out in bipartisanship and in silence until the deeds were done.

We give you thanks, not for the death of one man, but for the difference between organizations who ask their members to kill themselves to inflict terror; and a country that plans an operation which includes an exit strategy for the valued individuals undertaking it.

We give you thanks for our volunteer military and unsung many who gather intelligence to ensure our protection and provide justice. And for the military who take such risk, knowing that they might not survive.

We give you thanks that we are reminded that in this world, there is a country governed by law, which extends its light into that world, a country which gives personal religious freedom allowing individual pursuit of right outcome.

We give you thanks for reminding us that we each have the potential for a purposeful life, and we ask that we be re-inspired to live our life committed to identifying and fulfilling that purpose.

For this country, its’ leaders, citizens, freedoms and choices, we give grateful thanks.

Pagan to Present – A Look at The GODDESS!

With Rev. April Lussier

It could be said that, “In the beginning, there was Paganism and the Goddess.”

Survival depended on being in tune with the Earth’s rhythm for planting and harvesting.  Honoring nature and all life, performing ritual to welcome each season, and living in community are all part of being pagan.

From the beginning of humanity the Goddess was revered as the creatrix of all life, the nurturer and sustainer, the guide and teacher. The Goddess is Alive and well in the 21st Century; she has much to share with us if only we awaken to her mysteries.

Join us for an informative talk exploring old ways of Pagan traditions and how the Goddess is embraced in the 21st Century.
