Recognized as a world teacher for our age, his readings have been studied for decades. He believed “channeling” is best when from the Creator and in a context of knowing ourselves and giving service. Rev. Lynn Rogers took her master’s degree from Edgar Cayce’s Atlantic University in Virginia Beach and wrote Edgar Cayce and the Eternal Feminine based on her work there. She is also a teacher and intuitive channel of the Akashic record each soul makes as it travels from life to life.

Military Humor:

A young naval student was being put through the paces by an old sea captain. “What would you do if a sudden storm sprang up on the starboard?” asked the captain. “Throw out an anchor, sir.” replied the naval student. “What would you do if another storm sprang up aft?” asked the captain. “Throw out another anchor, sir.” answered the student. “And if another terrific storm sprang up forward, what would you do?” asked the captain. “Throw out another anchor.” replied the student. “Hold on,” said the Captain. “Where are you getting all your anchors from?” The naval student
replied, “From the same place you’re getting all of your storms, sir.”

Having just moved into his new office, a pompous, new colonel was sitting at his desk when a PFC knocked on the door. Conscious of his new position, the colonel quickly picked up the phone,
told the PFC to enter, then said into the phone, “Yes, General, I’ll be seeing him this afternoon and I’ll pass along your message. In the meantime, thank you for your good wishes, sir.”
Feeling as though he had sufficiently impressed the young enlisted man, he asked, “What do you want?” “Nothing important, sir,” the PFC replied, “I’m just here to hook up your telephone.

AFFIRMATION

My Life’s Journey is one of Service.

This Sunday at CCL   Doti speaking 1/29/12

Forge Your Own Path”

with Rev. Doti Boon
Honoring Those Servingin Uniform

This Sunday we will be observing Veteran’s Day. And, I realize that many folks wonder why anyone wants to join an organization that requires you to wear a uniform and give your services and sometimes your life to helping others.
Think about it. Every morning through-out the world there are people not only putting on military uniforms and flight gear but putting on grey jackets with Post Office emblems, blue scrubs, smocks or white jackets with hospital identification, janitorial and garbage collecting uniforms, firefighting equipment, police uniforms, construction crew orange vests, ministerial collars and robes, and even clown noses, in an attempt to help the citizenry be happier, healthier, spiritual and safe.
Even though you may not think of it in this way – these people wearing uniforms are all types of veterans. Men and women who have chosen a different and unique lifestyle. We realize that the firefighters and police risk their lives every day just as the military personnel. But how about the risk of getting jabbed with a needle containing contaminated blood, or standing out in front of freeway traffic with a “slow” sign? Why do some people choose these dangerous and difficult jobs?
Because they are unique and have chosen their own paths. No two people are identical, not even identical twins; each one of us chooses the career and the journey that suits who we are. Hopefully you have chosen to be one-of-a-kind. Because, it is impossible to be someone else!
From the day we are born and open our eyes, we start to grow into the person we will ultimately become, and although our parents and mentors have a large impact on our upbringing, we end up choosing our own journey – whatever it entails. And you know what? You can change to what you really want to do if you don’t feel successful.

“There is only one success:
To be able to spend your life in your own way”.
Christopher Morely

Remember, you do not have to do what other people tell you to do! I know you are constantly advised by family, friends, strangers and the media to act, behave and live in certain ways. But remember, you have the ultimate choice to make your own decision and forge your own path.

Be True To Yourself

Many people get into the habit of ignoring their true desires and do what they believe is expected of them. Figure out what makes you tick and pursue it; no matter how old, what gender and even if you are afraid to fail. Don’t be afraid to make a choice just because it seems a little risky – everything in life, even getting out of bed in the morning, involves risk. If you intend to truly live life – then Go For It!

It’s your life to live and your life to enjoy, no one else’s. As Patrick Denis (the author of Auntie Mame) wrote “Life is a smorgasbord and most poor suckers are starving to death.” Nobody on this planet walks the exact same path as you, and this is precisely what makes life so remarkable and fun. Although others may be able to show you parts of the path, you must take the initiative to walk it on your own.
Because as Morpheus said in The Matrix, “Neo, sooner or later you’re going to realize, just as I did, that there’s a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.”
So stay true to yourself, follow your instincts, and listen to your heart every step of the way and you will forge your own path. Remember what John Greenleaf Whittier said in 1856 “For all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these ‘it might have been’.”

Whether you are wearing a uniform and fighting for your country, a suit and tie helping folks with their mortgages,  heels and hose as you teach school or Levis to work in construction – know that what ever you are doing, where ever you work – do it with energy, enthusiasm, and passion.  Within your field you are a soldier pursuing your own path, a politician working for your own rights and most of all a healer helping yourself and others to survive and grow in this great nation we call the United States of America.
