Spiritual Quest Turkey Update

Reverend Joanne Merkley and I have returned from our absolutely fabulous trip to Turkey gifted to us by Pacifica Institute. We visited Mosques, Palaces, Homes, and of course I got to do some shopping at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. My favorite aspect of the trip: the people, especially the children. What do I miss now that I am home, the daily calls to prayer. That was a new experience for me and one that I found to be the most memorable. We will share more of our trip once we get back on California time and some sleep!

To All of our UCM Members and New Blogospere Friends.

 As you read this post, I will be on the other side of the world in Turkey, as the guest of Pacifica Institute’s Inter Faith Cultural Tour.  I along with Reverend JoAnne Merkley will be visiting sacred sites, schools, and the people of Turkey for 10 days. Within our group will be professors from both Santa Clara University and Stanford, along with other members of the clergy from this area.  We have been looking forward to the adventure “Spirit” has in store for us, and being able to share it with all of you when we return.
