AFFIRMATION
I am a Winner in Life! I Play for God’s Team!
Have you ever wondered how to become a “Winner?” You need to look at life much as an athlete trains; by repeatedly “exercising” all the muscles that need to get your body in its best condition. To become a spiritual winner you need to repeatedly think in a positive way.
You must start with visualization. All things are first pictured in one’s mind and manifested through the law of the mind; whether shooting a basket, throwing a touchdown, hitting a tennis ball or being in harmony with the infinite mind of God.
You must learn to visualize one step at a time. With practice, your feet learn to walk, then run. Remember, the same feet that stumble while learning to walk and run can be taught the most difficult dance steps. So, start simple and as you progress, you will be able to go into deeper meditations and affirmations and learn the many ways to become a spiritual winner.
The coach doesn’t teach someone how to “not catch the ball.” They teach concentration on the ball. They teach visualizing the goal and the best way to get there. This mental discipline in all things is found in patient and persistent practice. In fact, it has been proven that a team that practices visualizing winning a game (even if they are not on the court or field) does better than a team that half-heartedly plays the game in a sports arena.
The spiritual warrior should start with learning to concentrate on the things they want and not on the things they don’t want! A well worn but true saying is “As a man thinketh, so is he.” How many of us realize how important these seven words are? Yet, they are a powerful formula for spiritual unfoldment and for life itself!
Winning means doing daily exercises and training your muscles so you don’t even have to think about how you will respond. You just do it automatically to a given stimulus. That is the same way you develop your conscious and subconscious mind to cooperate in complete balance with your superconsciousness…”God.” Daily exercises such as prayer, meditation, affirmations and visualizations train and develop your spiritual mind.
When you absolutely know you are one with God, and can say, “the all powerful God is one with me.” You have become a winner in life. Repeat this daily; build up the repetitions it takes to make you a spiritual winner!
You Can Win

If You deem yourself a failure,
Then the world adopts your view,
If you bury all your talents,
Who will mourn their loss but you?
If you class yourself with weaklings
Surely none will say you, “Nay.”
Thinking you have found your level,
There the world will let you stay.
Don’t expect the world to tell you
Of your station and your worth.
Who should better know your value
Than yourself, of all the earth?
Stop lamenting and repining
If the world has used you ill.
You’ve a place among the useful;
You can find it, if you will.
If you’ll face the world with courage,
Then you’ll find a helping hand.
Take a place among the foremost.
They’ll allow you room to stand.
Those who struggle, wear the garlands,
Only cowards sit and sigh.
In the din of life’s great battles
Those who win are those who try.
Winning or losing is up to you. You will win if you truly want to do so. You must put forth the effort. The greatest battle you will have now is with yourself or in finding your “Real Self.” The false sense of self lies where your battle starts. You will not lose your individuality, but you will lose the false concept you have had of yourself.

“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all of your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”

When I was a kid, mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. I remember one night when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.
My mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I wanted to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for a biscuit, smile at mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don’t remember what I told him, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table mom apologized to dad for burning the biscuits. And he said: “Honey, I love burned biscuits.”
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.
He wrapped me in his arms and said,
“Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she’s real tired. And besides – a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!”
And that’s my prayer for you today. That you learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, God’s the only One who will be able to give you a relationship, whether with yourself or another, where a burnt biscuit isn’t a deal-breaker!

Adam bit the apple and feeling great shame, covered himself with a fig leaf. Eve, too felt shame and covered herself with a fig leaf.
Then she went behind the bush to try on a maple leaf, a sycamore, and an oak.

At day care, Mitchell and the other children drew names for a gift exchange. When he got home, he asked his mother to read him the piece of paper. “It says that you got Christopher’s name for Christmas,” she said.
Mitchell looked uneasy. “Will everyone call me Christopher from now on?”

Three buildings in town were overrun by squirrels – the town hall, the hardware store and the church. The town hall brought in some cats. But after they tore up all the files, the mayor got rid of the predators, and soon the squirrels were back.
The hardware store humanely trapped the squirrels and set them free outside town. But three days later, the squirrels climbed back in.
Only the church came up with an effective solution. They baptized the squirrels and made them members. Now they see them only on Christmas and Easter.
